Music

The music groups work generally from September to May and they perform for the Seinäjoki parish events. The participation is free of charge, and a group can be joined even in the middle of the season. If you are interesed in joining, get in touch with the contact person.

Gospel Choir Liekki

Gospel Choir Liekki sings four-part harmony, performing mainly Finnish gospel music, while also including African and American gospel songs in its repertoire.

The choir regularly collaborates with other choirs across the region and takes part in larger projects accompanied by a band.

Previous choir singing experience is an advantage, but not required.

The choir sings sacred music in one to three parts. Its repertoire includes contemporary Christian music and gospel songs.

Nurmo Church Choir is a four-part mixed choir that assists in worship services and performs at a variety of events. The choir takes part in choral courses whenever possible and also makes performance trips.

The choir’s repertoire includes both traditional and contemporary sacred music.

The Senior Choir is a unison women’s choir for retirees. The choir sings a varied repertoire of sacred music.

Rehearsals also include vocal technique, with the aim of developing healthy and natural voice use.

The Veterans’ Choir sings mainly patriotic and sacred songs. An important part of the choir’s ministry is participating in funeral services for war veterans and members of the Lotta Svärd organisation, accompanying them on their final journey with song.

Ylistaro chapel parish

Untamala Choir

Rehearsals are held at Ylissali on Tuesdays as needed. The choir does not have a regular rehearsal schedule.

The Untamala Choir was founded in 1922 and is the oldest revival movement choir (körttikuoro) in Finland.

The four-part choir has around twenty singers of different ages. Everyone with a love of singing, from secondary school students to older adults, is warmly welcome to join.
