Decision-making

The Church council is the highest decision-making body of the Seinäjoki Parish. It is the body that elects the Church board.

In Seinäjoki, the Church Board consists of 11 members in addition to the chairperson. The Board meets on average on the last Thursday of every month. The meetings are not public. In accordance with the Church Law, Ari Auranen acts as the chariman and Pirjo Aittoniemi as the vice-chairman.

At the end of 2018, the parish established an Education Board under the Church Board which oversees and supervise early childhood education, youth and confirmation, as well as school-related activities. Documents in the DOMUS service are provided as PDF files.

Regional council and chapel councils

The chapel councils and the regional council oversee, plan and administer the local parochial activities. They issue statesements and initiatives, write descriptions of the activities, manage their planning and draft budgets.

The chapel councils and the regional council select local staff in accordance with recruitment guidelines, establish committees, liability groups and workforces, and define their tasks. Both councils are elected every four years. The transcripts are published (in Finnish) on the main page of the parish website after the review process. Parish administrative regulations and administrative correspondence

Get to know Seinäjoki Parish's administrative regulations. Incoming mail for administrative processing is taken in by the registry office.

Registry office and administrative mail

The parish registry office receives the mail intended for administrative processing and records them in the case management system. After the recording, the data is sent to the responsible officer for preparation. The registry office is located in Ala-Kaljun katu 1 A, 60100 Seinäjoki, it's email address is kirjaamo.seinajoki@evl.fi.

Seinäjoki Parish Values, Vision and Strategy

A strategy is a plan for achieving a vision. It provides direction for the parish’s work and helps ensure that its goals are achieved. The strategy process was carried out collaboratively, involving the parish’s local areas, ministry departments, governing bodies, elected representatives, office holders, and staff members. The Seinäjoki Parish Strategy 2026–2030 was approved by the Parish Council on 11 June 2025.
