Small groups
In the Seinäjoki parish, people gather in various small groups, Bible and praying circles. There are circles in every section of the parish, they gather either in parish facilities or in the homes of the participants. Also new members are warmly welcome!
Information about Bible circles and the small groups
What is a Bible circle?
Bible circles and small groups are places where people gather to read and study the Bible together. There is generally also time for conversations and prayers. In a Bible circle, you can actively join the conversation, but also listen in silence. Reading the Bible together generates interesting discoveries and realisations.
Would you want to join a small group?
In the Seinäjoki parish there are multiple small groups, some of them public.
If you don’t seem to find one suitable for you or you wish to form a new one of your own, get in contact. The contact person coordinates the small groups of the Seinäjoki regional parish area, and from him you can also hear about non-public groups that you can still join.
For example, the Seinäjoki regional parish area has small groups specifically for young adults, between the ages of 20 and 45.
You are not meant to be left to take care of your spiritual life by yourself. Take courage, and ask to join our parish’s Bible and prayer circles, as well as other small groups!
Ilta Lakeudelle church community
The parish is a home where everybody is welcome. It has a place for anybody, and anyone can put their own gifts to service. It is also a haven where you can just come to be yourself, take a breath and reinvigorate.
It’s from these ideas that gave birth to the new Seinäjoki parish Ilta Lakeudelle mass. It was born alongside the traditional mass, as if its was its little sister, to offer another place where to experience connection with both the parish and the holy communion.
At the Ilta Lakeudelle Mass, the house band leads the congregational singing, parishioners handle different services, and there is a space reserved for praying and teaching. At the end of the Mass, we celebrate the holy communion.
People of all ages and from all kinds of life situations are welcome to the Ilta Lakeudelle Mass. For the small ones in the family, there is a Sunday school at every Mass. At the end of the service, you can also stay for a coffee or juice to chat with old acquaintances or get to know new people. The Mass also provides various service activities, including music, a sound system, intercessory prayer, space decoration and welcoming guests.
If you would like more information about the Ilta Lakeudelle masses, get in touch with the pastor Mikael Tammilehto.
