Group and Senior leaders
As a group leader (iso), and later as a senior leader (vanha), you serve as a role model for younger participants and have the opportunity to meet new people. Group leader training can be started after confirmation school. Senior leader training continues from the group leader programme. Together, the training programmes span three years.
Group and Senior leader training
Confirmation school
Once you have attended confirmation school, you have the opportunity to enrol in group leader training.
Group leader training
A group leader is an instructor who has completed confirmation school and group leader training. The training lasts two years. During the first year, you will meet once a month with your youth leader group and take part in two youth leader camps. In the second year, in the autumn, you’ll be able to apply to become an instructor for confirmation classes and spend the year working with a confirmation class group.
Senior training
Advanced youth leader training is a continuation of youth leader training and lasts one year. The training begins with a senior youth leader camp. In the autumn, you can apply to serve as a senior youth leader in confirmation classes. Throughout the year, you will accompany your own confirmation class group and help guide first-year youth leaders in their role by sharing your own experience. As part of the advanced training, you will take part in one youth leader camp, where you can share your skills and knowledge with new trainees.
